Part
I Speaker
As luncheon speaker representing Part I, Frank Haley, Jr.,
CIO, City of Houston Airport System, thanked his Director, Rick
Vacar (2123) for being a strong supporter of Model-Netics and introducing
it to the Airport System. Frank noted that he has spent many hours
in various management training courses, but believes that Model-Netics
is the "best of the best." He is excited about how much
improvement has taken place at the Airport System due to Model-Netics.
Part
III Speaker
Tracey Pearce (2514), spoke on behalf of the graduating Part
III participants. Tracey is the Director of Human Services for Collection
House Services based in Brisbane, Australia. She opened by asking
the question, "What's an Australian doing in Houston learning
about management?" Her answer was that "just like in America,
Australia has many management training programs but none compared
to Model-Netics." She noted that the best investment their
corporation can make is in the people and Model-Netics is the serious
management training investment they have chosen. Tracey expressed
that they strongly believe Model-Netics will make the difference
in being able to keep the best and brightest employees that Collection
House Services needs as they continue to grow at a record pace.
Featured Speaker
Harold S. Hook (0001), President and CEO of Main Event Management
Corpora-tion was the featured speaker at the graduation luncheon.
Mr. Hook spoke on the topic of success. In looking for a universal
definition of success, he developed "The Success Profile"
which involves asking oneself three simple questions:
Question
#1: Are you doing what you really want to do?
Question
#2: Are you going where you really want to go?
Question
#3: Are you becoming the kind of person you really want to become?
He concluded
by saying that, "In the final analysis, success is like happiness,
being unique and personal to each individual."
