“Teaching
Model-Netics to lower levels in the organization is costly due to
turnover”
While MEMC believes that Model-Netics is a tool for the whole organization,
the training cost associated with positions of higher turnover -
generally non-managerial jobs - is a valid concern. To address this
issue, some clients will establish an eligibility requirement for
taking the course. For instance, the organization might require
that individuals taking the course must have been with the organization
at least 6 months or 1 year, and that they are not on a probationary
status or at a substandard performance level based on the last performance
review.
Such a
criteria is no guarantee that the person will not leave the organization,
but it may help minimize the Sunk Cost of training non-management
personnel where the turnover rates are historically higher than
for managerial personnel. With some proven job stability as a criterion,
this may help keep the turnover rate for those trained in Model-Netics
at a level more consistent with that of management personnel. And,
it still gets the management playbook throughout the
organization, setting the stage for true organizational culture
building.
Teaching
Model-Netics to People from Outside Your Organization
MEMC is often asked, Can we include someone from outside our
company in our Model-Netics Class?. The answer to this question
is both No and Yes. According to the Instructional Services Agreement
signed by all instructor candidates during ITP, instruction in Model-Netics
can only be conducted for participants that are employees of a Client
company that has contracted with MEMC ... unless MEMC has
specifically authorized Instructor to give instruction to a specific
group of persons (from outside the Client company).
So, if
in the normal course of setting up a Model-Netics class to be taught
in your organization (a current Client organization), you would
like to invite one or two external people to participate, call us.
Tell us about your particular situation, and request authorization
to include these people. We will explain the procedure and the pricing,
and usually will authorize the request.
Remember,
please call or e-mail us first.

that seasoned Model-Netics instructors as well as new
associates share with us.

| Perry
Kincaid (#2539) of ConAgra Foods recently emailed
to share this new version of the IMA 100 acronym
used in teaching the Management Process Cyber-Chart. I
told the class that attitude is key to Model-Netics. If
they participate and give it a chance then Model-Netics
will pay off for them.
|
| Cynthia
Clinton-Brown came up with: In Model-Netics Attitude
Is One Opportunity (to make a change). |
| Thanks,
Cynthia and Perry, for sharing this new perspective and
acronym. |
| Rather
than JUST audiotape, some ITP participants will now
be sending in videotape for review. This not only helps
the reviewer to see and hear the new instructor, but also
to view the flip chart work and class interaction. It
is also an excellent way for veteran instructors to review
themselves -- something to consider if your organization
has the capability. |
| Not
sure of your M-N Instructor Certification status?
Once you have completed the initial teaching requirements
of teaching three classes in two years, a blue and white
“Instructor Certification” card was mailed to you. The
effective dates are indicated on the card. Also, when
an instructor submits Instructor Credit Reports after
each course taught, a copy of the completed form is returned
for your records. This form indicates the number of teaching
credits on file. If you have questions about your instructor
status, contact us at “instructors@maineventmanagement.com”
providing your name, address, M-N Associate Number to
request your current Instructor status. |
| Administrative
help is only an email away. We have added a special
email address for Model-Netics instructors to communicate
with the MEMC administrative staff. If you are an instructor
and have a processing question or need assistance, contact
us at instructors@maineventmanagement.com.
or you may also call us at 713-831-8605. |
