Part I Speaker
Eric Potts, Deputy Director of Aviation Planning Design & Construction for the Houston Airport System (HAS) spoke on behalf of the Part I group.

Eric explained the role of Model-Netics within the Houston Airport System by describing the vision of the HAS Director Rick Vacar. "My boss (Rick Vacar) is a dynamic guy who lives, breathes and eats Model-Netics, and he has said Model-Netics is going to be the backbone for every tier of leadership in our organization."

Eric went on to say Model-Netics is necessary to help the organization deal more effectively with change. "We need the common language Model-Netics provides to get the point across as we change the organization..."

On a personal note, Eric mentioned that Model-Netics has been a practical tool in assisting him to successfully transition from his previous career (27 years in active military) to his present responsibility in managing $2.8 billion of capital improvement projects for the HAS.

Part III Speaker
Allyson Jeter (2555), Director of Human Resources for Attention LLC, spoke on behalf of Part III.

Allyson provided those in attendance a truly inspirational talk on the meaning of Model-Netics. From a personal perspective, Allyson says it (Model-Netics) "has enabled me to comprehend my personal limitations as a manager, facilitate my personal growth, and has provided me with a lifetime learning tool."

Allyson also commented on the need for Model-Netics at an organizational level referencing it as the "Holy Grail of organizational improvement." Her own company, Attention LLC, has enjoyed a rapid growth in less than three years of existence. They see Model-Netics as a core competency course that will be taken by all senior management, managers, supervisors and team leaders in 2002.

In closing, Allyson commented on the special bonding that took place within her training class which experienced the September 11th tragedy while at Part I of the September ITP. "When people ask about where you were on September 11th, I will always remember our experience at Model-Netics Instructor Training Program, and the people who were part of our lives at that moment."

Featured Speaker
Harold S. Hook (0001), President of Main Event Management Corp. was the featured speaker at the graduation luncheon.

It tells the story of a person traveling along who comes to a stream and passes over it, and then once on the other side turns around and builds a bridge. Then he is challenged by those around saying, "Why are you bothering to do this? You're not going to pass this way again." In the poem, the old bridge builder explains why:
